Looking at effective dynamic alignment during movement is very important. One of the easiest ways to do this is to evaluate the athletes’ weight shifting patterns.⁣

When we weight shift ineffectively there is a great chance of only moving through a few joints vs. distributing the movement through the body wife system.⁣

It’s physics from there: less area and same force equals increased pressure! That is setting the body up for overuse injuries and dysfunction, not to mention decreases our efficiency and potential power output!⁣

So what should happen with weight shifting?⁣

✅ lateral flexion or side bending should be couple with WS towards the opposite direction of movement⁣

✅ rotation should be coupled with the same side WS in the direction of movement⁣

✅ forward flexion should be a backward or opposite direction of weight shift

✅ extension should be coupled with a forward or opposite direction of weight shift

What you will notice is correct weight shifts instantly connect us into more active feet and organizes our body on top of our legs which instantly integrates our body wide fascial tensegrity! That is efficiency!⁣

Give it a try! Like, repost, tag someone who needs to clean up their movement!⁣
