Virginia’s premier Latin dance company returns to PVCC’s Main Stage with a dance theatre work based on the splendid history of the Mayan Empire. The legends of the Yucatan come to life, the home of an extraordinary culture that continues to fascinate more than a thousand years later.
An award-winning professional dance company and school of dance based in Richmond, the Latin Ballet of Virginia is known for its technical excellence, depth of emotion and uniquely theatrical presentations that feature richly detailed costuming and video projections. Under the artistic direction of Columbia-born founder Ana Ines King, the ballet combines contemporary dance with the classic forms they perform, resulting in performances that are accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.
